OUR SEAWATER
Having full control over our raw materials is an absolute necessity for us, achieving an exceptional level of qualification is a source of pride.
Our seawater is not only used in our products but is also sold in France and for export to market-leading companies. Whether the seawater is going to be used within the healthcare sector or for other applications, our experts support you with your projects / products.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS
The water is withdrawn in a protected location, constantly agitated by oceanic currents, at the tip of Brittany.
The water is pre-treated in an industrial facility using:
- Sand filtration: removing particles and colloids,
- Charcoal filtration: absorbing chemical contaminants,
- UV treatment: eliminating microbiological contaminants,
A process with different ranges of filtrations to ensure the microbiological quality of the seawater. This includes:
- A clean environment: The final filtration and the filling processes are performed in an ISO 7 class Clean Room.
- Final 0.2µ filtration.
- The reproducibility and replicability of all processes and checks.
- A consistent microbiological and analytical seawater quality.
- Constant monitoring to anticipate any deviation and ensure customer satisfaction.
OUR SEAWATER SITE IS CLASSED ZONE A AND MONITORED BY IFREMER. IT IS ALSO A NATURA 2000 PROTECTED SITE.
The marine science and technology institute responsible for health and safety monitoring of professional shellfish harvesting areas.
The European Union network covering natural or seminatural sites with outstanding heritage value, in terms of the exceptional fauna and flora they contain.

Our production site is ISO 9001:2015 and NF EN ISO 13485:2016.

YSLAB seawater comes from Saint-Guénolé, in Southwest Brittany in France. Exposed to powerful Atlantic Ocean currents, the seawater is being constantly renewed, which means we can extract quality seawater.
The site has a maritime climate with only very limited industry and other activities nearby. It is an area in which organic seaweed is grown and harvested. This protected environment is productive of an exceptional biodiversity, specific and unique to our seawater.
